Poetry

From A Bookstore

How to feel at home in a place you’ve never been:

Make the walls out of hardcovers

Inked with your favourite titles.

The wallpaper is words upon words,

All of which you’ve read before

Under the duvet in your bedroom,

Lying on the couch in a rare, silent house,

Kicking carefree legs on a swing outside

Or in the comfort of the backseat of the car

These words can bring memories to life

Bring Home to the unfamiliar

So take a seat

Adjust your glasses

Drink a hot coffee

Choose a book

And make the bookstore a home.
