Why?

* A week ago today, 38 people (including three Irish) were murdered on a Tunisian beach.

The horrific attack left one question on many peoples minds – why?*

****

Her name echoes throughout the town

Shock, disbelief, pain –

Fear.

*

A small Irish town

Without a political agenda –

Neutral.

*

Yet one of our own

Got caught on the battlefield –

Murdered.

*

Caught in the gunfire,

A life lost to militancy –

Terrorism.

*

Fooled into the conflict,

Disguised as a holiday resort –

Deceived.

*

Thirty-eight bodies

Families, parents, lovers –

Innocent.

*

Living in a hell

Disguised as heaven –

War.

*

A community united

From a shared horror –

Resilience.
