Halloween

All Hallows Eve

You can’t tell whose friend or fiend

Don a costume, you can be anything

Just for this one night.

Dress all in black, put on a mask,

Begin a reign of terror.

*

Release the monster.

*

Rules don’t exist

As dressed like the dead

You lose all your morality.

An old pagan festival

Desperately held onto

By those with demons inside.

*

Release the monster.

*

Your trick is your treat

Playing with fire

And the lives of animals.

It’s the night of the dead right?

Haunting lives when still alive

Some of the blood is real.

*

Release the monster.

*

Tonight is the night for chaos

Can you smell the fear?

Wait until the morning

Radio reports will reveal the damage

Then the mess is cleared up,

Paper, plastic and egg shells.

*

The monster is asleep.
