The Choice

Split into two so you have made a choice

Picked the side made of less of me,

The one who offers what you really want,

That unwanted desire

That erects suppressed dreams.

Trying to comfort this part of me

While simultaneously looking over my shoulder

Searching for the only part you want.

I should remember though

That even when I was whole

You never really cared.

But now you crave a tiny part of me –

A part I was not willing to share
