Frozen

Clocks move backwards, time stops and repeats itself.

Mondays fade into Fridays

November sunlight sinks into the horizon

As I wrap up in last years coat and scarf.

I’m not worried about it snowing this year,

My body won’t be moving

Even though my mind is running marathons.

Time stops and repeats itself.

I stay up too late

Dry swallowing a pill to help me sleep –

Maybe I’ll sleep the next day away.

Deadlines flash with enthusiasm I left behind in September

I sink like the sun, fading into nothingness

Just to rise the next day

And do it all over again.

I wish to move backwards, or even leap forward

But I am frozen in this winter

As time stops and continues to repeat itself.
